On December 20, 2017, in the premises of the municipality of Bitola, a delegation of "Mobility Bitola", composed of the president Prim. Dr Niko Jankov, the Secretary Mitko Fidanovski, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board Dimche Hristov and the members of the Board of Directors - Lidija Veljanovska and Sotir Jonovski, held a meeting with the Mayor Natasha Petrovska and the Advisor for Social Affairs, Ms. Natasha Struminovska.
The proposed agenda of the meeting envisaged: expansion and promotion of cooperation, joint applications for projects of interest to people with disabilities, gradual introduction of the rights of persons with disabilities contained in the UN Convention, ratified by the Republic of Macedonia in 2011, together with the optional protocol. Of course, priority is given to those of the local government, such as: overcoming architectural barriers (ramps, parking lots, lifts in public institutions and spaces), employment of persons with disabilities (additional qualification, retraining), transport, public transport (low-floor buses or vans) and other benefits, communal activities (10-20 m3 of water, exemption from paying for installed power, etc.), education - barriers, assistive technologies and personal assistants, including general useful work, habilitation and rehabilitation, accommodation (house, apartment, etc.).
We also prepared a memorandum of cooperation for indefinite period, which would include the preparation of a plan of activities, transparency and animation of the media, especially investigative journalism. It is expected to be signed soon.
