Access to polling stations

In the presidential elections held on April 21 and May 5, five members of "Mobility Bitola" in Bitola and Resen were authorized observers of "Inclusion". With previous training, the SEC issued certificates and badges for our members who observed a number of polling stations. The observation encompassed several elements, such as elemental accessibility for hard-moving people with provided auxiliary elements (ramp, marked road signs and a customized polling station). The general impression is that a large number (percent) of people with disabilities did not go to the polls at all, a small number of them voted at home and it is legally regulated and implemented. On indicating, the auxiliary funds were placed somewhere, and somewhere that was not done. In other words, only a small percentage have used their civil right to vote, so we will need to investigate the reasons for non-compliance with the legal obligation. We believe that if all the prerequisites are enabled then we can not say that our members did not come because of unreachable accessibility, but for other personal reasons. In any case, we will wait for the final report of "Inclusion", to which we are grateful for the actions taken, which we hope will improve the situation in the future.
