On November 20, 2020, an online meeting of the Municipality of Bitola and the civil associations was held to discuss the proposed program for social protection for 2021 - plan, financial framework and implementation. The meeting was chaired by Mayor Natasha Petrovska, and among the representatives of civil society organizations were our members and activists Fanche Georgievska and Lidija Veljanovska, who took the opportunity to share our thoughts on the program and implementation plan.
The realization plan is quite extensive, covers several segments and engages resources of human and material potential. People with disabilities are covered by a satisfactory segment of the general mass and the wish list is impressive, including personal, educational and other assistants, architectural barriers, public transport and so on. Notable place is given to the regional Resource Center, with a satisfactory starting point of funding. The place and role of UNDP will be further specified.
Representatives of civil society organizations participated in the very creation of the program, and the meeting aimed to review all the details and potential changes before being adopted by the Municipal Council in December. We hope that with good engagement of the employees in the municipal structures we will succeed in the challenge for realization of the program, ie from written plans to realized works. Mobility Bitola will actively participate in accordance with the possibilities in the coming period and the situation with the pandemic. We hope for a successful start.
