Biljana Todorovska wins the main prize at the poetry competition in Struga

Our member and prominent poet Biljana Todorovska was crowned with another in a series of awards for her poetic works. With her song "I run with the power of the word", Todorovska won the main prize of the competition "I run means I exist", within the first edition of the international sports event "Poetry Race", which took place on May 22, 2021 at the Bograd hotel in Struga. "Todorovska's song abounds in poetic and personal power, transforming the handicap into a metaphor for a different run, a run that is challenging, that speaks of a brave way of life, full of inspiration that only the word can offer. Todorovska's poem addresses directly and evokes an experience with which the reader empathizes with the lyrical subject. Compared to the other songs, which are also authentic, Todorovska stood out with the message she sends, a strong message that we are all running in some way, and the opportunities to enjoy it are subtle," the organizers said in a statement. Congratulations to our member, let her creativity and recognitions multiply even more! Read the winning verses of Biljana Todorovska below.

Do not take my word

nor the letters

with all their

voices.

Let them shout

let them rejoice.

Do not touch anything

what with the pen, I caress

where the paper

sings what I will write,

there, right there

is my strength.

I can not run

I walk, slowly

I move slowly

through the labyrinths of life,

with barriers.

On my two crutches

I lean with all my strength,

but to rest my soul

I have them,

vowels, verbs, adjectives,

with them

here with them

I run on the white sheet.

I write ...

I run ...

I write.
