On May 25 and 26, 2023, Mobility Bitola organized two info days for the "Alternative tourist experience - alternative travel" ALTER TRIP project, which were held in two cities of the Pelagonia region - Resen and Prilep. Of course, Resen was chosen due to the fact that the association has its active members and premises in this city, and Prilep as the second largest city in this region. According to the work plan, the agency Mig Travel from Bitola was responsible for the organization of the info days, which provided a location, technical support and catering, as well as transportation for 20 and 40 participants from Bitola (20 for each info day), and 20 participants each were invited from both cities. Of course, among the invited were representatives of the local self-government and cultural institutions, as well as tourism workers from the catering sector, as well as members of associations of persons with disabilities. The presenter of both events was the project manager Ivona Jankova, who explained in detail the results of the work done within the project, including the legal regulations and by-laws related to accessibility, as well as the developed tools for accessible tourism - tactile signage, printed tourist guides with Braille and the digital tour guide with audio and sign language narration. In Resen, among those present was Vesna Sofronijevska, a member of the Association of Blind Persons - Bitola, then Krste Micalevski, head of the Department for Local Economic Development and Cross-Border Cooperation in the Municipality of Resen, medical personnel from the Health Center - Resen and members of Mobility Bitola from Bitola and Resen. In Prilep, unfortunately, not a single representative of the local self-government, nor from Mobility Prilep attended. Among the participants in Prilep were Dr. Pare Zareska, archaeologist and representative of AGTIS, and prof. Dr. Dushko Josheski from the Faculty of Tourism and Business Logistics at Goce Delchev University from Shtip, who shared in the discussion that accessibility is rarely taken into account when creating tourism strategies. All in all, both events were very informative and we hope that all participants will share and apply what they have learned, and know where to turn if they need advice or help. Activities continue.
