Access to cultural heritage, development and perspectives

On November 20, 2018, a delegation of "Mobility Bitola" took part in an international event at the Institute and Museum - Bitola. Namely, as one of the initiators of accessibility to the cultural heritage, our association and the Bitola Museum deepened and strengthened the cooperation with the National Museum from Knjazevac (Serbia) and the Museum of Sarajevo (BiH) through their representatives Milena Miloshevic Micic (SR) and Tatjana Mijatovic (BiH). Both institutions have high achievements in accessibility of cultural heritage for people with disabilities and together with representatives of the Bitola Museum - Irena Ruzhin and Jove Pargovski - are active members of the Balkan Expert Forum. Part of the event was also Tesalia Zhirova, tiffologist, who presented the process of increasing accessibility to the cultural heritage for people with disabilities. This is especially true for the overcoming of architectural barriers before and in the institutions, as well as the technology for accessibility with tactile images for blind persons, which were introduced in Bitola with the help of the Sarajevo expert, Tatjana Mijatovic. Milena Miloshevic Micic informed about the digitalization of museum settings, as well as the principle of "Museum To Go" that works with the motto "If they can not come to us, we will go to them". This way of acting is already giving results and looking at the progress, the state can not remain indifferent. The achieved successes and shared experiences are of great importance in the planning of the activities and the performance before the institutions of the system, in close cooperation with the Museum and the civil society. This was proved in the rich discussion, especially from the representatives of "Mobility Bitola", the Association of the Blind, civic associations and other experts who attended this important event. Activities continue.
