Traditional Parade on Shirok Sokak and Workshop in Bitola

On June 24, 2018, with the support of "Mobility Macedonia" and the Macedonian Scientific Society - Bitola (MSS – Bitola), "Mobility Bitola" organized the traditional Parade on Shirok Sokak and the workshop titled "Lobby together!". At the event, which was initially scheduled to take place on June 17, there were about 100 participants, among them members of several associations from "Mobility Macedonia", as well as representatives of the local government, headed by the mayor of the municipality of Bitola, Natasha Petrovska, who attended the event from start to finish. As always, the gathering place was the Magnolia Square, where the organizers gave statements for the media who covered the event. Along Mayor Petrovska, their thoughts on the matter were shared by the President of "Mobility Bitola" - Prim. Dr. Niko Yankov, the president of "Mobility Macedonia" - Branimir Jovanovski, as well as prof. Dr. Marjan Tanushevski, President of the MSS – Bitola. After parading through Shirok Sokak, the participants headed to the Cultural Center – Bitola, where the debate was held. The introduction was made by Dr. Jankov, who briefly referred to the history and beginnings of lobbying, which was followed by Mr. Jovanovski, explaining through examples of the Croatian capital, Zagreb, and emphasizing the importance of physical activity for people with disabilities, which is supported by our friends from the project “Sport 4 Everyone”. Prof. Tanushevsky, on the other hand, has perfectly captured the essence of lobbying and the ways for its most successful realization, such as the formation of alliances, choosing "target," monitoring and taking action at the right moment. The workshop was closed with our longtime friend and supporter, doc. Dr. Sasho Kocankovski, who explained the psychological aspects of lobbying. Our association used this occasion to present the recently signed agreement for cooperation with the Resource Center for Parents of Children with Special Needs – Skopje. The agreement was presented by the regional coordinator, Gorica Popovska-Nalevska, who attended the event on the behalf of the Resource Center. This was a great opportunity for our members to get acquainted with this topic, which we hope to successfully apply in practice, and which will take us a step closer to the realization of our program and statutory goals. This year's Parade on Shirok Sokak practically closed the first half of 2018, which was quite filled with activities, and we intend to continue in the same direction.FOTO:FACEBOOK
