Chess tournament on the International Day of Persons With Disabilities

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities - December 3rd this year was marked with several events, including the Chess Tournament organized by SSRI Bitola, which was held on December 5th in the premises of the Chess Club "Shah-Sheh". The tournament was attended by 15 competitors from 5 disability associations: Labor Invalids, Civil Invalids, Association of the Deaf, Association of the Blind and "Mobility Bitola". The match was played in individual and team competition, the team was played according to the Buchholz system, and the individual according to the Swiss system. Zhivko Petrovski, Kire Angelkovski and Zhivko Strezovski competed as representatives of "Mobility Bitola". All participants showed solid results, and our members achieved the greatest success in the team competition, winning second place with 9 points. The tournament was led by the team of the Chess Club with the chief chess referee Lazar Rajchovski, and among the most deserving of the organization from SSRI Bitola are Lidija Veljanovska and Olivera Nakovska-Bikova, active members of "Mobility Bitola". We congratulate both the participants and the organizers for the excellently held tournament and the achieved results, and we hope that next year the number of competitors will be even greater.
