Mobility Macedonia - thinking about the first draft report of Macedonia in the implementation of the Convention of the United Nations for rights of persons with disabilities

Working Group of Mobility Macedonia on 25 and 26.01.2014 in Bansko, Strumitza, after preparing the draft review report given by Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia  and in connection with the obligation after the past two years after ratifying the Convention and become an integral part of our judicial system. All disability organizations, unions and the National Coordination Body tasked to review and make suggestions and concerns. Therefore, after preparation in a given task, the working group including the union president Branimir Jovanovski and prim. Dr Nico Jankov as members of the NCB, Mitko Fidanovski, Persida Prendzhova and Elica Trpkova as lawyers and experts on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and General Secretary of the Union Sofche Prcheva reviewed article by article of the Convention in the report of MLSP and added their suggestions and thoughts on the course and future developments regarding implementation of the Convention.
Considering the global frame narrative, the working group received the impression that the perception is going in a positive direction. Our observations and suggestions are complementary and explain conditions and processes in various ways affect people with disabilities (in the case of people with physical disabilities) and amendments to legislation that would facilitate the implementation (including associated by-laws must to be operational within a reasonable time). All these considerations the working group meticulously detailed and elaborated consensual summaries and the final draft was sent to MLSP. With such expeditious actions Mobility Macedonia, the board and president Branimir Jovanovski receive positive points in communication with institutions and in achieving our goals (program and statutory). These good practices should be maintained ready to welcome all future challenges and their timely resolution.
