"Mobility Macedonia" at the 9th Music Festival in Pomorie, Republic of Bulgaria

From 27 to 31 August 2014, representatives of "Mobility Macedonia" took part in the 9th Music Festival of persons with physical disabilities in Pomorie, Republic of Bulgaria. A team of our union was made up of the presidents of the "Mobility Skopje", Dejan Gjorgievski and "Mobility Bitola", Dr. Nico Jankov, and the group of Nicki (Nikolco and Sevdet from Kavadarci and Sote from Bitola, all of them are members of the CAS "Phoenix"). This is the second returning visit of our members, as representatives of Bulgaria took part in our musical meetings in Strumica. The main organizer of the festival is the Foundation "Strength for Life" based in Veliko Trnovo. President of the Foundation is Jordan Stefanov, chief organizer and presenter is Zornica Stefanova and artistic director of the festival is the famous musician Aleksandar Mihailov - Sasho.

Besides the usual patronage of the Mayor of Pomorje and the library “1888 Prosveta”, this year's festival is under the patronage of the Ombudsman of the Republic Bulgaria. Thanks to owner Ljubomir Balaban, almost all participants were accommodated in the hotel "Dallas," where all press conferences and rehearsals for the upcoming performances were held.

This year the festival was divided into two parts: folk and pop night night. The first most of the participants were soloists, duo and trio pieces, instrumental bands and dance groups. All of them showed great professionalism, even though most of them are amateurs. The good choreography was also a part of the performances, especially of the dance groups of people with disabilities. The age of the performers ranged from 10-70 years, from newly discovered talents (Christiana) to accredited artists with international reputation (Orhan Murad). The majority of folk performers were accompanied by the group of Nicki, and Sote and Nikolco were also presented as vocal interpreters.

The general impression is very good, and we believe that our cooperation and exchange of experiences in all areas will continue. Leisure and socializing followed after the performances. All in all, a great experience that we hope will be repeated in the future.
