Innovation in health and social care in rural areas

Тhe European Centre for Social Affairs and Consumer Protection from Vienna, Austria and the Municipality of Krivogashtani have organized a two-day conference about the innovation in health and social care in rural areas, and the new approaches in Macedonia. As invited entity, "Mobility Macedonia" was represented by "Mobility Bitola" with four members: President prim. Dr. Niko Jankov and board members - Fanche Geogievska, Sotir Jonovski and Zivko Petrovski.
The event took place in Krivogashtani on June 6 and 7, and was opened by the attaché at the Ministry of Labour of Austria, Mr. Harald Fugger and the Mayor of Krivogashtani, Mr. Tony Zatkoski. Moderator and speaker of the matter was the Executive Director of the European Centre for Social Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr. Kai Leichsenring.
The main topic was health and social care in rural areas focusing on the strategy of Macedonia's development until 2020, all the challenges that the users will face, especially the persons with disabilities, opportunities for coordinated action at national, local (commercial and non-profit service providers) professionals and citizens in order to get the services at the right time and right place (preventive approach). During the rich discussion, our members had the opportunity to exhibit the efforts of "Mobility Macedonia" at the discovery, enrollment and activation of members from rural areas and opening field offices in rural areas. For our part we received certificates.
All in all, it was a well-designed and well organized activity. Our hopes are that in cooperation with the institutions both of the state and in the local communities, and with obtaining real data, many things that are inaccessible will become a pleasant reality.
