International Seminar on accessibility of cultural heritage

Organized by the Institute, Museum and Art Gallery - Bitola, on August 23, 2016 it was held international seminar, the first meeting of the "Museum for all, museum to go", accessibility of cultural heritage in the Balkans. Among the invited guests was a delegation of "Mobility Bitola", composed of President prim. Dr. Nico Jankov, members and activists Fanche Georgievska, Sotir Jonovski and Ivona Jankova.
Lecturers at the seminar were Milena Milosevic - Micic, art historian and director of the Museum Knjazevac, Serbia and Eng. Arch. Tatjana Mijatovic, adviser for tactile images and models in the National Museum of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The topic was accessibility to cultural heritage, guide for people with disabilities and mapping and tactile maps and images for the blind and basically educational programs on human rights and inclusion through exhibitions of cultural heritage and cooperation programs, drawing up a program and a website with touch screen for reviewing the settings with interactive programs with the participation of scientific institutes (Technical School, Niš), guide in Braille in a dark room for visitors and develop other senses (www.tifloloskimuzej.hr), inclusive learning, social justice etc.
Experiences of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the treatment of the social model of inclusion of persons with disabilities, with special emphasis on low vision and blind people. From the extensive presentation of Eng. Arch. Tatjana Mijatovic, we learned the proper mapping and preparation of a guide for blind people in institutions such as museums and other institutions for cultural heritage.
