On December 8, 2024, at the "Korzo" restaurant in Bitola, starting at 11 am, Mobility Bitola successfully organized and conducted the thematic workshop titled "Multiple Sclerosis: Fiction or Reality", with the support of Mobility Macedonia. In addition to the president of Mobility Bitola, prim. Dr. Niko Jankov, as promoter and moderator, Dr. Irena Stefanovska, a specialist neurologist from the Bitola Clinical Hospital, and Prof. Dr. Sasho Kochankovski, psychologist and gestalt therapist, also participated. Before the start of the workshop and the introduction, interviews were given for national media (MRTV, Telma, MIA, etc.) by the president of Mobility Bitola and the president of Mobility Macedonia, Branimir Jovanovski, as well as our member with MS - Biljana Todorovska. Among the guests present, the former president of the Macedonian Scientific Society – Bitola, Prof. Dr. Boris Angelkov, as well as guests from several associations of Mobility Macedonia (Kumanovo, Skopje, Shtip, Kochani, Strumica and Prilep) stand out. After the introduction of President Jankov, Dr. Irena gave a presentation, elaborating the issue in a very eloquent, clear and educational manner, with an emphasis on the important points, understandable to the audience. The presentation itself contained several novelties in treatment that had not been available in the past 11 years, including new available drugs and diagnostic procedures. Prof. Dr. Kochanovski presented himself in his recognizable style, well known to all of us in the last 26 years. This time, on the role of Gestalt therapy in people with MS. The presentations were a complete hit with those present due to the optimal time frame, the quality of the presentations and the comprehensibility of terms, especially during the discussion that followed. Several members of Mobility Macedonia were involved here, with or without MS. After the rich discussion, the already offered conclusions crystallized, noting that it is necessary to: - enrich the diagnostic non-invasive procedures, - enrich the range of drugs with a greater participation of new generations of drugs, - create a registry and possibly a fund, - increase, if necessary, physical and balneotherapy to 2 times a year, - promote self-acceptance, as a basic prerequisite for the detection, registration and activation of people with MS, - fully implement the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, - develop plans from institutions at the state and local level, - provide assistance and understanding from the institutions of the system at the state and local level. We believe that a strong message has been sent, first to the members of Mobility Macedonia, the environment and the institutions of the system. Time will tell how far this message will reach where it was sent, what the reactions will be and what activities or inactions will be shown in the future. After the program ended, the attendees continued to socialize over a shared lunch. Special thanks to the media, the national service MRTV and MIA. The activities continue.
