On April 14, 2026, the Municipal Social Protection Council of the Municipality of Bitola held its constitutive session, officially beginning the work of the Council’s third composition, aimed at strengthening the local social support system. “Mobility Bitola” delegated our member Biljana Todorovska as its representative, while Simona Joveska, adviser for social services for vulnerable groups in the Municipality of Bitola and also a member of “Mobility Bitola”, was elected secretary of the Council. Marina Krstić, member of the Council of the Municipality of Bitola, was elected chairperson, while Sofija Ristevska-Petruševa, also a council member, was elected deputy chairperson. The focus of the discussion was the role of the Council as a coordinating body that unites institutions, civil society organizations, and local self-government in creating effective solutions for vulnerable categories of citizens. Discussions also addressed the current local situation, highlighting the necessity of developing new and innovative social services, as well as making better use of existing resources through intersectoral cooperation and partnerships. The Council will focus on concrete measures aimed, among other things, at improving the position of persons with disabilities, with special emphasis on accessibility, inclusion, and early support. It will act as a platform for dialogue, coordination, and the initiation of solutions, with the goal of building a more resilient and inclusive local system. We wish all members of the Social Protection Council of the Municipality of Bitola successful and productive work, and we believe that the contribution of our delegate Biljana will be equally successful and fruitful, contributing to the improvement of conditions for achieving both our statutory and programmatic goals.
